Candy is Dandy!

Hypothesis

Bags that are supposed to have equal weights will not have the same amount of M&M’s within it. All of the colors are also not represented equally. Certain colors tend to appear more often than others.

Findings

From what I had found, there are colors that are more numerous than others. The colors that had appeared most for me had been blue, green, and yellow. I had also found that even though the bags have the ounces written on them, they may not have enough content inside to reach that weight.

Reflection

This is a project I had once done while I was in high school. So going into this assignment ii had an idea as to what was going to be the outcome. I had still enjoyed doing this assignment. For the most part I had already been familiar with the use of Excel. After completing all of my data and construction the graph I had tried to add colors to my chart but I could not remember how to do it. So I had gone and searched through Excel’s different application and eventually figured out how to.

Tokyo Reflection

Throughout high school my teachers would ask us to look up topics and create a presentation using PowerPoint, so this project had been something that I was very familiar with. However, out of all of the times that I had used PowerPoint I did not know that Shift + Tab brought the indentation backwards. I believe that the hardest thing with this assignment had been just gathering information and assembling it in an orderly fashion. I believe that I will be able to use the skills that I had used during this assignment in my future career as a way to present information to my students either about different forms of art or artist. I believe that I had meet most if not all of the standards asked for this project.

Feild Trip

Reflection

This project is going to be able to help me in my future career because in the case where I am planning a field trip for my students, I have a basic idea on how to go about formatting it. Aside from learning a way to create a permission slip I could use the ability to put shapes into text by making a guide that will tell the student a basic overview of a craft that we will be making and have a small diagram within the text, depicting what it should look like at the current step. While doing this project I had used different NETS.T standards. The standards that I had used had been 2, 3, 5. Standard 2 had been met by allowing me to have a personalized learning with the use of digital media. Standard 3 had been met by using my skills in Microsoft Word by creating graphics that would get my students attention. Standard 5 by effectively convey my plan on going on a field trip.

Teaching Philosophy

Although I had never been one who had enjoyed anything associated with school, during the middle of my senior year of high school my views upon it had changed. This had completely changed my outlook on almost everything that was connected to school. The thing that had changed my view on school had been one of the art teachers in my school had came up to me one day as I was sitting in the library and had given me some advice as I was drawing a portrait. I was never used to people coming up to me and giving me advice as I as drawing a portrait. Having never taking a formal art class getting advice on different techniques of drawing was something new for me. The teacher had kept coming back to see my progress with my drawings throughout the school year. This teacher had been what had influenced me to want to be a teacher. I want to be able to watch a student develop as I had.

Technology is an important tool to use within a class room. I believe this because it allows students to interact with multiple sources that could not be available without it. When student are giving the opportunity to use technology to research a topic opposed to searching though books they are more enthused to be able to search in ways that that are more familiar with. They are also able to access online library’s that may be too far away for them to physically access. Technology is also important to use in the class room because when students are introduced to it at a younger age and keep using it throughout their education they are able to familiarize themselves with all of the different possible ways to use it. This is important for the student because once they graduate out of schools where they are using technology on a daily basis and get a job where they are using similar programs which they had learned they will not find it as an obstacle preventing them from doing their job to the fullest.

I would like to be able to integrate technology into my future class room. I believe that this would be important for students to use because it enables them to encounter different things that they would not be able to experience. Through these new experiences they would be able further development their understanding for the technology that is available to them.

My name is Patricia Wolf, but I prefer Patty. I work part time at a CVS as a shift supervisor. When not working I enjoy teaching myself either the guitar or the piano using the knowledge I have from playing the violin for 8 years. I also enjoy drawing, photography, or playing video games.
